Cascading Style Sheets
From WikiKnowledge
Cascading Style Sheets is a style sheet language mostly used to apply formatting to web pages written in HTML or XHTML. They were proposed by Håkon Wium Lie in 1994 to tackle the problem of websites becoming more complex to create and maintain. CSS level 1 was published in December 1996 by the W3C. Internet Explorer was one of the first web browsers to support CSS, Netscape, a popular web browser at the time decided to use a different style sheet language called JavaScript Style Sheets or JSSS.
